ABOUT BONGEKILE
My name is Bongekile Nguza and I am 25 years old. I was born in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal. I came to Johannesburg in 2009 to pursue studies in Office Administration at Vaal Technikon and I graduated in 2012 with a Certificate in Office Administration. My cousin’s interest in yoga, sparked my own and we attended classes regularly at the 4Living Guesthouse. I moved back to KwaZulu Natal in 2014, however my love for yoga stayed with me and I kept in touch with Yoga4Alex throughout my stay at home. I returned to Johannesburg in 2015 and continued with my practice and started training to be a Kundalini Yoga teacher, which I completed in June 2017. I completed training as a Kiddies Yoga instructor in 2017. Since 2016, I have been pursuing training in my first love, which is drama, at the Market Theatre Lab. Over and above that I have done the following courses to enhance my effectiveness as a yoga teacher:
- Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)/Tapping with Pritam Khalsa
- Balance the mind with Tatjana Hayward
- Beyond addiction with Ita Roussos
- Transactional Analysis with Karin Pratt
In 2017 I was part of the Yoga4Alex Team that gave daily classes to Grades 11 and 12 in the 5 high schools in Alexandra, where we reached over 2,000 learners each week for a period of 6 weeks. I am currently teaching Kundalini Yoga at Minerva High School in Alexandra. My classes have on average 20 students per class.
