Mindful Yoga

ABOUT AYANNA

Ayanna fell in love with yoga during a personal period of loss, stress, and transition. Studying yoga initiated her journey of introspection, self-love, and wellness, which helped her to be light in the midst of emotional heaviness. Ayanna wanted to safely share the benefits of yoga with others, so in 2018 she became a Registered Yoga Teacher through Studio 34.

Ayanna's classes are slow to moderately paced, focused on breath, alignment and students' needs and abilities. Accessibility to yoga, regardless of age, body type, income, level of experience and race is very important to Ayanna. She encourages accessibility by giving pose modifications, offering pay-what-you-can classes, empathetically engaging with her students, and encouraging her students to non-judgmentally listen to their bodies. In addition to her private offerings, Ayanna has led classes for Black Yoga Magazine, PurplMoon, Retro Fitness and Yoga4Philly.

Ayanna is currently studying to pursue her long term teaching goal of becoming a Yoga Therapist who works with individuals to achieve and maintain emotional/mental, physical and spiritual wellness. In addition to being a yoga student and teacher, Ayanna is a mother, holds a B.S. in Business Management and works as a Data Analyst.
